About Desley….
My journey with EFT Tapping began in 2005 when I took my first course and started tapping with family, friends and students. As a parent and full-time teacher at the time, I tapped with my kids and my students, witnessing firsthand how it helped children become more centered, calm, and present. I tapped with interested colleagues who over time reported feeling less stressed and more relaxed and effective. I was truly amazed by how this simple, yet powerful technique brought a sense of peace and relaxation to both children and adults.
This experience ignited my passion for learning, prompting me to pursue further study and training. Along the way, I addressed my own challenges and ultimately decided to help others discover the transformative benefits of this transformative healing tool.
My practice is enriched with a diverse range of skills from my experience in Secondary School Teaching, Educational Kinesiology, Pastoral Care, Counselling, Yoga and Meditation.
My experience with EFT Tapping includes working with:
grief and loss - death, divorce, illness…
debilitating fears and phobias - dogs, spiders, movies
inner child work - healing childhood wounds
teacher stress - burn out, exhaustion, loss of confidence, sense of isolation, sleep issues….
student stress - focus, exams, problem-solving, expressing emotions, self-esteem and resilience…..
parent stress - worry, fears, low level support, single parenting, parents of neurodiverse children.
empty nesters - rediscovering who you are outside of your role as caregiver, self-care, addressing challenges, including feelings of loneliness, loss of purpose, or adjustment to a quieter household.
Over the years I tapped on my own emotional challenges and limiting beliefs. As an archetypal “helper” I came to believe that to be a “good” woman, teacher, wife and mother I must prioritize others’ needs first and squeeze my needs in if there was time and space. This pattern led to exhaustion and emotional burnout. EFT Tapping helped me to heal and to gradually change the pattern I learned through my life experiences. I no longer seek validation helping others and putting their needs before my own. I have built a sense of worth that comes from self-acceptance rather than external validation. I learned to “put my own oxygen mask on first”. I learned from experience that this is not selfish. It is self-loving and self-caring and essential to being a better person, partner and parent. In the process I learned to prioritize and express my own needs with confidence; to make time for activities that are fun and that bring me joy, without fear or guilt.
As I let go of what no longer serves me I am free to engage in more life-enriching activities that feed my soul like walking a Camino in Spain; something I didn’t think was possible for me until I tapped on that limited belief and resistance and found the confidence to go for it!
I love sharing this amazing tool to help others heal whatever is holding them back from being in touch with love, peace and joy; from achieving their goals and developing their power and potential.
If you feel called to release your unhelpful inherited beliefs book a free consultation with me. I love supporting others to thrive.
That’s me walking the Camino in 2019!
