About Desley…

I am an Advanced Accredited and Certified EFT Practitioner and member of EFT International. I am also a partner, a parent, a step-parent and a grandparent. My work is enriched with a diverse range of skills and life experiences as a Secondary Teacher, Counsellor, Campus Minister, Astrologer, a Yoga and Meditation teacher, A Reiki Master and various passions and interests. I am an avid learner and have worked with the Enneagram, Dream Therapy, ACIM, Breathwork and Power of 8 healing groups.

My journey with EFT Tapping began in 2005 when I took my first course and started tapping with family, friends and students. As a parent and full-time teacher at the time, I tapped with my kids and my students, witnessing firsthand how it helped children become more centered, calm, and present. I tapped with interested colleagues who over time reported feeling less stressed and more relaxed and effective in the classroom. I started tapping with a professional on my own challenges and as I cleared my emotional issues I became a more present and authentic person, partner and parent. I rediscovered an infectious joy for life which ignited my passion for further training enabling me to share this process with others.

Over the years, I have worked with a diverse range of clients and I am devoted to supporting women to feel grounded and deeply connected to themselves; to reconnect with their gifts and strengths, and to share their hearts, insights, and unique light with others.

My Emotional Crossroad

After decades of caring, guiding, organizing, and holding space for my children, life became suddenly quieter. The role of mother that I had lived for so long shifted, leaving a silence and emptiness I wasn’t prepared for. For so long, my identity was woven into being the steady, dependable presence my children could rely on. I loved that role deeply and lived it with devotion. But when our last child moved into his own place, I found myself meeting a grief I hadn’t anticipated.

It was confronting. When the external busyness fell away, there was more space to notice what was happening inside. I found myself meeting a grief I hadn’t anticipated. The emotional weight was heavier than expected. Grief, pride, loneliness, relief, and confusion —layered, overlapping, and hard to name. And in the middle of it, something quietly began to shift. The emotional weight felt heavier than expected because it wasn’t just one feeling. It was a whole internal landscape arriving at once. Grief for the ending of a long chapter. Pride in what I had given and built. Loneliness in the sudden quiet. Relief in not having to constantly hold everything together. Confusion about who I was now outside of that role. These emotions didn’t come in an orderly way—they overlapped and sometimes contradicted each other, which made them harder to fathom.

It became the start of an emotional awakening—not something dramatic or sudden, but a steady shift into self-awareness and inner connection. I gently reconnected with parts of myself that had been hidden beneath the busyness. I was experiencing myself, my needs, feelings and identity beyond the role of mother and caregiver.

Tapping became my lifeline. It helped me process my emotions and gave me a way to soften the grief that sat heavy in my chest and calm the anxiety that came with so much change. It helped me reconnect with the woman beneath the roles, the expectations, and the constant giving. And slowly, it helped me rise into a version of myself that felt clear, steady and empowered.

As I navigated this transition, I connected with so many women moving through this season quietly carrying grief, confusion, sadness, loss of identity and a longing for something more. I also discovered how profoundly healing it can be to have support during this time. To have someone who understands the emotional landscape you are traversing. Someone who can hold space for the unraveling and the becoming. Someone who can help you release old patterns and reconnect with the truth of who you are. This personal experience is what inspires my work. Supporting women through their inner emotional landscape is not just my work—it is my passion, my purpose, and the natural extension of my own healing.

Through EFT Tapping and grounded, compassionate coaching I support women to explore their inner emotional landscape and clear their emotional clutter so they can step into a life that feels authentic, joyful, and truly their own.

As I continue to let go of what no longer serves me (it’s a journey), I continue to discover more life-enriching activities that feed my soul, like walking a Camino in Spain - something I feared wasn’t possible for me in my sixties. But, after tapping on that limited belief I found the confidence to go for it. Four years later I walked across England from the west coast to the east.
